Water Meter Dashboard for Utility Network Company
Customer Issue
A water metering company contacted us looking for a system to measure the water consumption of domestic dwellings.
They were looking for a completely “hands-off” system, which would enable their customer service team to bill customers directly, without a requirement to manually collect meter readings from site.
The pilot project was a series of tall residential city blocks featuring approximately 900 apartments.
Solution
Working closely with Sensus UK, we were able to select a range of SensusRF water meters which would be suitable for the premises, and develop a proposed layout of meters, repeaters and SensusRF gateways which would result in effective remote reading capability.
Our in-house software team were able to host an SFTP server to collect meter readings from the SensusRF gateway on our client’s behalf over the 4G/LTE network. Using a bespoke software package, these readings were combined into a time-series database to allow clear trending and analysis of individual properties on a web-based platform.
Outcome
Using this project as a case study, we are working with our client to develop a strategy to roll out the solution to further sites.
We will consult regularly with their Customer Service Team to enhance our software offering.
